Emperor Haile Selassie: 10 profound quotes

Here’s our selection of 10 excerpts from Selassie’s speeches.
Emperor Haile Selassie I commemorative statue at the AU headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

1. “Today, we look to the future calmly, confidently, and courageously. We look to the vision of an Africa not merely free but united. In facing this new challenge, we can take comfort and encouragement from the lessons of the past. We know that there are differences among us. Africans enjoy different cultures, distinctive values, special attributes. But we also know that unity can be and has been attained among men of the most disparate origins, that differences of race, of religion, of culture, of tradition, are no insuperable obstacle to the coming together of peoples. History teaches us that unity is strength”. —Words of H.I.M. Emperor Haile Selassie in Addis Ababa May 25, 1963, Speech, “Towards African Unity”
On leadership
2. “Leadership does not mean domination. The world is always well supplied with people who wish to rule and dominate others. The true leader is a different sort; he seeks effective activity which has a truly beneficient purpose. He inspires others to follow in his wake, and holding aloft the torch of wisdom, leads the way for society to realize its genuinely great aspirations”. —Speech on Leadership in Speeches Delivered on Various Occasions.
On science and religion
3. “The progress of science can be said to be harmful to religion only in so far as it is used for evil aims and not because it claims a priority over religion in its revelation to man. It is important that spiritual advancement must keep pace with material advancement”. — Interview in The Voice of Ethiopia (5 April 1948).
Views on education
4. “Education is a means of sharpening the mind of man both spiritually and intellectually. It is a two-edged sword that can be used either for the progress of mankind or for its destruction. That is why it has been Our constant desire and endeavor to develop our education for the benefit of mankind”.
5. “Throughout history, it has been the inaction of those who could have acted, the indifference of those who should have known better, the silence of the voice of justice when it mattered most, that has made it possible for evil to triumph”. — Cited as from an address in Addis Ababa (1963).
On the question of racial discrimination
6. “That until the philosophy which holds one race superior and another inferior is finally and permanently discredited and abandoned; That until there are no longer first-class and second-class citizens of any nation; That until the color of a man’s skin is of no more significance than the color of his eyes; That until the basic human rights are equally guaranteed to all without regard to race; That until that day, the dream of lasting peace and world citizenship and the rule of international morality will remain but a fleeting illusion, to be pursued but never attained”.
7. “And until the ignoble and unhappy regimes that hold our brothers in Angola, in Mozambique and in South Africa in subhuman bondage have been toppled and destroyed; Until bigotry and prejudice and malicious and inhuman self-interest have been replaced by understanding and tolerance and good-will; Until all Africans stand and speak as free beings, equal in the eyes of all men, as they are in the eyes of Heaven; Until that day, the African continent will not know peace. We Africans will fight, if necessary, and we know that we shall win, as we are confident in the victory of good over evil”. – Haile Selassie I.
8. “Men on other parts of this earth occupied themselves with their own concerns and, in their conceit, proclaimed that the world began and ended at their horizons. All unknown to them, Africa developed in its own pattern, growing in its own life and, in the nineteenth century, finally re-emerged into the world’s consciousness”.
On colonialism, nuclear testing
9. “We demand an end to colonialism because domination of one people by another is wrong. We demand an end to nuclear testing and the arms race because these activities, which pose such dreadful threats to man’s existence, and waste and squander humanity’s material heritage, are wrong. We demand an end to racial segregation as an affront to man’s dignity which is wrong. We act in these matters in the right, as a matter of high principle. We act out of the integrity and conviction of our most deep-founded beliefs”. —Speech, “Towards African Unity” 1963.
10. “It is no less important that we know whence we came. An awareness of our past is essential to the establishment of our personality and our identity as Africans”. —Speech, “Towards African Unity”

What is the utility of the SPLM unification now?

What is the utility of the SPLM unification now?

The former detainees (FDs) and SPLM-in-government (SPLM-IG) declared the unification of the SPLM as per Arusha Agreement. This raises many questions with some supporting such a move while others vehemently rejected it. Is this reunification a real or fake as such attempts were made before in Arusha, many times in Entebbe and Cairo but all failed.

Maybe the real question is the timing rather than intention. While some of us are convinced that SPLM has a critical role to play in implementing the revitalized peace agreement, the unification of the SPLM would have been ideal after Juba committed itself to implement the provisions of the revitalized peace agreement during the pre-interim period and the revitalized Transitional Government of National Unity (R-TGoNU) is formed. After the formation of R-TGoNU, one expects the SPLM-FDs to play a bridging role in unifying all factions of the SPLM (SPLM-IG, SPLM-IO of Taban, SPLM-IO of Dr Riek and SPLM-FDs).

The Arusha Agreement is not about the SPLM-IG and SPLM-FDs but about all SPLM factions. The real question is what is the rationale for such a rush for the unification of the SPLM when the implementation of the revitalized peace agreement during the pre-interim period is facing serious challenges. Instead of the SPLM-FDs to be co-opted cheaply by Juba, they could have played a positive role in ensuring the full implementation of the revitalized peace agreement during the pre-interim period.

By surrendering themselves cheaply to Juba, the FDs are no longer one of the signatories of the revitalized peace agreement but they have become the sub-set of SPLM-IG and may not have any right to challenge Juba and to claim the share and the rights accorded to them in the revitalized peace agreement. It seems  SPLM-FDs are becoming transactional rather than a real force for change that some of us have attached so much hope.

It seems we are now destined to the continuation of the current status quo of autocratic hegemony of Dinka ruling elites with paradoxically the blessing and participation of the SPLM-FDs. I wish the FDs were to wait until the R-TGoNU is formed and to play a leading role in addressing the critical issues during the pre-interim period. Apparently, the spirit of struggle for good is fading away and it is gradually been supplanted by survival and transactional spirit in the political marketplace of South Sudan. SO SAVE ME ALMIGHTY GOD.

The Problem With the Reunification of the SPLM Aristocracy

Public Service Announcement

The Problem With the Reunification of the SPLM Aristocracy

The citizens of the Republic of South Sudan must have heard by now, about the recent announcement by the SPLM Former Detainees (FD’s), to join the SPLM In Government (IG). This announcement was made two days ago at the Juba State House (known as “J-1), by a delegation of the FD’s led by, Cde. Deng Alor Kuol. This announcement comes as no shock to anyone who has been objectively following the prospects for war and peace in our country. It should however, be a point of concern to all of our civil population.

Compatriots,

1. We should be concerned with the recent events that have taken place in our beloved homeland in recent days, as they threaten to roll back the hard-won progress in achieving fundamental change in our country, through the negotiated settlement.

2. The recent announcement by the FD’s, is the latest conspiracy by the group, aimed at undermining our people’s efforts at determining for themselves, their own destiny.

3. This latest gimmick by the FD’s, is intended to appear as a confidence building measure towards the peace process, when the reality is that it is contradictory to the peace process.

4. The FD’s being signatories to the Arusha Agreement and to the Revitalized Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in South Sudan (R-ARCSS), abdicated their role and responsibility to the peace process.

5. The reunification of the SPLM under the Arusha Agreement, should be a voluntarily agreed and should come as a resolution and should not be an agenda.

6. The people of South Sudan, in their cattle camps, villages, in refugee and in internally  displaced camp,s should be vigilant, as this is another effort by the traditional elite to keep power away from the people.

7. According to the structures of the SPLM, the highest decision-making body is the National Convention, which is a collection of the various Boma Liberation Council (BLC) delegates. This was how the Movement ensured that, power, would be in the hands of our civil population.

8. The catalyst to the current civil conflict, was the disagreement of the SPLM leaders to call for a scheduled meeting of the National Convention, where our people would have chosen new leadership, including the SPLM candidate for President.

9. The current SPLM leadership expired in May, 2013 and members were to choose new leaders at the National Convention the same year.

10. The current leadership, fearing to face the BLC, aware that the people may vote them out for failing to deliver the promises of the liberation struggle; conspired to precipitate a crisis in the Political Bureau (PB) and the National Liberation Council (NLC), in order to circumvent the democratic process.

11. If the SPLM Leaders were confident about the re-unification of the SPLM and it was not a gimmick, they would call for the National convention and allow our people to make whatever decision they see fit.

12. Otherwise, this is just a conspiracy by the SPLM PB, an entitled, tribalistic, aristocracy that has failed to deliver the basic promises of the liberation struggle and have instead proceeded to loot our country and put us on the path of state failure.

13. The people of South Sudan should not allow the SPLM Leaders to deceive them that peace will be achieved through dinners and photo ops with the President, nor will it be achieved through a change of heart by those who have created for us a failed state.

14. The only way to restore peace to our beloved homeland, is through the full implementation, in spirit and letter, of the provisions of the negotiated settlement. Anything short of this, is surrender in disguise.

15. The restoration of peace to our homeland is beyond the reconciliation of a handful of celebrity politicians. This will not reverse the failure of state, nor will it arrest the continuing freefall of our economy.

16. The Revitalized Agreement has provisions which address the economic crisis, the humanitarian disaster, the insecurity in the country, issues of power sharing, establishment of institutions, the constitution making process, basically, establishing a state for the first time, as the First Republic of South Sudan, has been a false start.

17. The People of South Sudan must understand, that anything short of the full implementation of the negotiated settlement, will not bring peace.

18. The SPLM(IO), shall wage the struggle for a just and peaceful society and to fulfil the promises of the liberation struggle, to its logical conclusion.

Learn to save first then support family, relatives

After successfully finding a job and working there for two years, Tom has no savings to his name. Being the eldest at home, his meagre monthly salary is split between himself and his extended family — his younger brothers and sister, whom he has to support through school. If there is an emergency, he would have to borrow to sort it out, plunging himself further into the abyss of poverty. If there is an investment opportunity, he will have to watch as it disappears like mist right before his very eyes since he has no money on him. Tom’s case is not unique. He shares the predicament with Grace, a young business woman in waiting. In waiting because she had to lend her relatives money she had set aside to buy a sewing machine, so that they can be able to meet their needs, with the promise of refunding it soon.

Black tax. A term used to describe the phenomenon where young, black people use their salaries to support their families. Inasmuch as this phenomenon is experienced across all cultures worldwide, the word “black tax” is used because it originated from rural, black families. While the black tax is the legacy of the apartheid system in South Africa, the common setting for it occurring is when young people move from rural to urban areas in search of jobs. As soon as they get one, they are expected to send money home for upkeep and other necessities.

BLACK TAX

While the underlying basis of the black tax is a noble one, it sets up many youths to fall into an endless cycle of poverty. The poverty trap. Young Kenyans, like Tom and Grace, earn money but they are barely eating the fruits of their labour, and have no cushion for the future. This is heart-wrenching because they are not living the life they are toiling tooth and nail for, nor the one promised by acquiring skills and an education. This lures them to quick money schemes and it is only a matter of when, not if, before they themselves, have to depend on their own children for survival, and the vicious cycle continues.

One of the most beautiful attributes of the African culture is our social ties. We support one another. Nonetheless, a time comes when our loyalty to these ties has to be rethought especially when they are endangering our futures. Yes, our parents have sacrificed a lot to educate and provide for us, but this shouldn’t be used as a tool for manipulation. Furthermore, these persistent cycles of poverty can only be broken by the government correcting historical injustices, planning worthwhile investments in the economy, and providing employment opportunities for people to earn. But as we call on the government to (hopefully) act, we can secure our present and future by setting and maintaining proper financial boundaries. In doing so, we become smarter and avoid passing on this poor situation to future generations.

Setting financial boundaries begins by assessing our finances objectively to acknowledge what we can practically do with it. Ultimately, it is about how much you spend, not how much you earn. Thus, it is important to prioritise saving, no matter how little you earn. Second, it’s important to have a sincere and open discussion with your family about those finances, and on how much you can spend on black tax. With such an understanding, they will begin to see where you’re coming from and where you’re going. This will help manage their expectations and eliminate unnecessary pressure. Ensure your black tax is spent on teaching the family how to fish.

POVERTY TRAP

This way, you can expand the proverbial circle of income earners, increasing revenues in the long run. Finally, purpose to maintain these boundaries, no matter how painful. This will enable them to take you seriously, pushing them to be innovative on how they can supplement what you cannot provide.

Families can’t expect to build material wealth in an instant and off the back of a single individual. Young professionals can’t spend their lives trying to fix the evils of the past. Let them use their skills and education to advance forward. This doesn’t mean they shouldn’t support their families. It simply means we shouldn’t shift this responsibility into a burden. When we do this, it is no longer moral.

Voices of Yirol People, some calling for #MangarBuongMustGo and while others are just Unhappy at all on Facebook

PART ONE

By Romany McLoving Wen Eliza

"Oh how I wish our beloved son of Yirol our spearhead Rin Tueny Mabor was in Mangar Buong position, Pakam would have never ever thought of running rampage on my people.

Mangar have failed my people and he must go. I will personally write a petition letter to President Salva Kiir to remove Mangar Buong with immediate effect and bring Rin Tueny as governor for the security of my people. Get it twisted at your own risks, and you can miss me with your bs..."

By Hon Alway

"As concerned member of Yirol community, the news that are coming from construction site they referred to as YIrol1 are chilling.

When I heard Mangar Buong saying that the first casualty from mad Pakam youth was a person with mental health issues.

I was so sick in the tummy when I heard a person who people depend on uttered  like that.

How are families of deceased going to feel like if they hear such news? He disarmed the entire communities of Yirol and left Pakam with their guns. I wonder what his security advisers were smoking!

What happened in Yirol East between Pakam and locals was preventable but due to lack of competency, its happened. Enough is enough..we have lost precious lives we are not supposed to lose.

He has to go if he doesn't know what he is doing.

My condolences to the families."

By Makuei Madeng Dut

"Good morning J1 of president Salva Kiir and his Governor General Mangar Buong.

The history has been made yesterday in our State of Yirol particularly Pagarau Payam.

By Pakam youths terrorist captured Pagarau for almost four hours and that history will go into someone book or  government lives history whether national or state.

It’s a total invasion from Pakam terrorist. They occupied all the Pagarau grasslands with about 11 cattle 🐄 camps and heavy weapons.

Which will be a first time in the history of Lou to be humiliated to that degree.

Now Mr president Kiir has to make a choice according to what I have observed on the ground to choose either to maintain governor Mangar Buong or losing people of Pagarau because he will never win both."

By Makuei Madeng Deng

"I am deeply saddened and disappointed to hear the continuation of killing in Eastern Lakes State Yirol, particularly Nyang county.

My condolences to the families, relatives and friends of those who lost their innocence lives, May God comfort them in this difficult time.

Therefore, I am adding my voice with those who are urging the State authorities to bring those who  generating instability and insecurity among our people across Eastern Lakes State in the book 📖 of accountability.

May almighty God rest innocents souls in peace and God grant mercy to our people across our beautiful land of Yirol so they can love themselves again as they used to be.

"Political gimmick of our nation

To gaggle of  Mangar Buong Aluenge who was appointed as governor of Eastern lakes state your appointment was of great lost of hope because of your wrong administrative role

You are appointed base compensation of your sweet but not what president kiir expected from you as good management of people and the resources.

Your jubilant during the coming of Pakam turn to be cry and wailing of my beloved people of ciec manyiel particularly incidents areas where fighting broke out three days ago.

Mangar as people are frustrated in your leadership, better to resign from that seat because you have what you want in your life .

During your oath ceremony in freedom hall Juba you request of enough time such that your work will be determined but now your weakness and lack of administrative role and strategies are reveal ,better to let other have chance of taking over because you have fail totally.

Coming back to the point of my mistrust toward Mangar is because he miss his role as  a governor of eastern Lakes state with his  poor strategic of building relation and other historic that Mangar is a man of people.

We are not against disarmament but you fail not to disarm those who left their cradle land because war as you are a man of no expectations that is what we have expected and this is the reason why some intellectual youth ELS didn't appreciate you .

If we are the era of accountability then those who have die during your leadership will be counted on you.

If you were me you would have to asked pakam elders of reasons as to why the left their land and came to conclusion that this procedural measures must be done before your settlement but you didn't have that mind of reasoning.

People are tried of you.

                     RIP MY BELOVED YOUTH

                         Prepared by MACHOT AWUR"

By Apouthjang James

"Reward for loyalty to Kiir's governent is pain. This is what people of Pagarau are going through because they gave up their guns in honour of presidential order to disarm the civilians across the country. Pagarau, is under invasion of Pakam nomadic pastoralist, turned terrorist. Women and children are displaced from the area. Ruthless Gen. Buong, who holds grudge against the affected population failed to provide protection as this is in fulfilment of his dreams.

LORD HAVE MERCY."

"Guys mangar Buong will be nolonger

"Pagarau was turned as a land of vulnerable's   people.

It was four days back when pagarau was under serious attacks and there were no turned up  from segregative administration of Gen Buong who need to sip blood in my payam like his daily tea. I believed there will be no good life observed in pagarau and greater yirol as a whole since mayaudit has draggered his eyes on tribalism basis. With these concreted evidences i have seen ,yirol will one day turns into a terror place if security  is loose and stroded away in the hands of state government .

What are the roles and duties of youths in the state?

1. They must criticizes that government which pay less care to his people.

2. They are the  voices of their own people.

3. Mediators of peace among communities.

4. They are an eye of community.

5. They mobilizes people about peace and their co-existence.

I,m very sure if we pay deaf ears and blind eyes to our roles and duties as youths then we shall always be in agony.

Here are the charges (blunders) that mayaudit has commited in his current leadership since last year:

1. He loose security in his hands whereby rampants killing of innocent civilians is paramount.

2.he disarmed  pagarau youths  and left his own people(lekakudu youths) full combats which led to the fighting between kuacdit and kuacthii in panawuor(bierdeng)that resulted to the death of three gentlemen & two seriously injured in kuacdit side last year.

3. He failed to form a collective committee to preached peace between kuac since they have differences.

4.he left to juba last year during his called from council of state and lie to the media interviewer in juba airport that my state is calm yet the fighting was in process between kuac himself.

5. The worst of all is the accommodation of pakam community without legal majors.

What do i (we) need from the current government of Mayaudit?

1. Security

2. Good governance

3. Preach peace and reconciliation among our communities of Els period.NB:Let us be useful dear youths"

By Mathok Bol Wel

"Those killed in Pagarau, Atiit village and Wunthou were thieves and Madmen According to Mangar Buong and Machiek Makur. Yesterday, After they heard of capturing of Pagarau by highly armed pakam youth, massive lootings including Pagarau primary Health Care, Mangar shamelessly sent members of armed forces.  Unfortunately, they were dislodged upon their arrival to Pagarau by highly armed pakam terrorists and two soldiers were killed RIP.

Now we have put our eyes and ears down to hear how Mangar Buong is going to describe  the killing of two soldiers who lost their dear lives yesterday in an attempt to recapture Pagarau back from Pakam.

After three days of heavy fighting in Pagarau without any intervention from state authorities,  the army could only come and spare nothing. Homes looted, people killed, women and children displaced and the home boys could describ the coming of soldiers as "too little too late".

That leads us to confirm the conspiracy that we were suspecting from Mangar Buong to be true.

What u can protect as a leader first are people lives and their properties.

After all those villages in the north of Nyang County dominantly owned by majority of Kuecdit, some few households from Ajiek, Kuun and Jalwa were looted until nothing is left completely, u now send soldiers. That was kidding. We can't be cheated. People there already  know your ill intentions towards them.

You would rather stay with ur soldiers then sending them to spare nothing.

My condolences to those families who lost their dear ones in this tragic moments of sadness in the hands of Pakam terrorists.

Instead of hearing words of condolences from people who claims to be leaders there, the sadist is adding fuel to people who are already devastated by describing those killed as madmen and thieves. Very disappointed."

By Machar Lual Machok

"Anything devastating kuacdit and ajaak communities is the heart of our governor.

So don't ever dream of Mangar interventions..... because that killing has no effect on him.

Let pakam continue slaughtering their chickens freely."

But, as per now you are taking problems to the people of greater Yirol .....specially kuacdit  community and apek .dear readers the above  mentioned  communities are the victims of unable governor  mangar administration in Els.

1 disarment was not done well in some part of Yirol (kuacthii ) was not disarmed up-to now carrying 12 Apkm and over 200 Ak47 .

2 Since mangar became of Els he promised, his  people na'am to stand chance of grabbing land for them.

3 mangar turned State house as his clan meeting point .

4 Yirol acuation has become family daily income. And  other states revenues.

5 mangar never call meeting of Kuac sultans to resolve all the problems as leader.

All these mangar must go. he, totally failed to rule Els because he encourage  tribalism, looting of resources by his surrounding family members all  people knows them. Mangar never dreamt one day of being Governor just by surprise .

2. We demand to be compensated for the distraction course and lives lost.

"Only one with dead conscience, rotten morality and  ethics would do this!

It was yesterday evening when I saw a shocking post by a man whom i believed to be morally upright with clear conscience. Hon. Abraham Majak Makur, alias Gad Makur Abraham Majak , Minister of Physical Infrastructure ELS. The hon. minister posted a picture with delightful appearance  on his Facebook timeline to mark the end of last month and beginning of a happy new month(February) amidst the flaring  deaths of yirol people in north.

The people of greater yirol both at home, in diaspora and their sympathisers from countrywide are profoundly embroiled in mourning  for the lost souls and prayers for those wounded still laying in pain in hospital beds as a result of Pakam attack. It is such a time that brings people together regardless of their differences to face the disaster that has befallen their land, the land they collectively believed to be their common home where the dreams and aspirations of the people for common good are embedded.

In such critical times, the government in charge, as always demonstrated by many responsible governments of world, stands in solidarity with her people to give them necessary help and comfort. The picture posted by the minister compounded with statement made by the Governor, Gen. Mangar Buong himself, referring to those killed while defending their land as criminals, if true, this demonstrates lack of administrative responsibilities and poor leadership. And therefore confirms  the claims by many youths on the social media against the  bad administration of Gen. Mangar Buong.

As it is said, you can judge a person through his friends, it's indeed true to point out  this fact as exhibited by state minister, Hon. Abraham Majak Makur who showed lack of moral obligations and leadership by posting happily amidst mourning .

I usually don't involve myself in the petty politics of defamation, but do have moral obligation based on my consciousness to condemned any negative situations affecting all of us as the one that has emerged. This minister ,Gad Abraham Makur should be fired in the firs place.

It is therefore crucial to join hands beyond tribal lines and join grand campaign to replace the incompetent government of Gen. Mangar Buong .period!"

"It's very sorrowful and painful for a leader like Mangar Buong Luenge to describe the late hero Mayor Manyok Adhor as a madman while he was killed depending his cows from Pakam. I want to aware very body that he was not a mad person as the governor  stated in his mouth. It is my big surprise to hear from him like that, I am very disappointed by your own words in the  media Mr governor.Morever, I want to call the leaders of this Land that enough is enough. There is no any where in this World where a father for that matter describe his own son a mad  son when  an enemy came and killed him inside the house.Anyway,I don't blame Mr governor for his odds speaking.I am very thankful to our people who have demonstrated their anger since yesterday up to this movement. It is also every important to know where you came from even when you don't know where you are going. By this I know well that we are not alone and why the whole world is unhappy. May souls have perished with our brother rest in peace. Amen."

"You welcomed   a visitor to your house, fed them, comforted and nursed their wounds, and then you gave them shelter and after they settled, they started to slaughtering your kids?

What would you do if you were in the shoes of a person who has welcomed a visit to his/her home?

In regards to the Eastern Lake States’s  current situation, ELS has welcomed Agar Pakam to their State and now as a payback, Pakam are slaughtering people here and there but Gen.Magar Buong is in silent , why? Why are people being punished in their rightful land? Is kindness a curse to ELS Citizens?

Gen.Mangar Buong Aluenge  just do something about this though you have been giving no mind to Kueecthii’s and Kueecdit’s  disputes ..

Gen Mangar, if you can not disarm these people, kindly please Move Pakam out of Yirol ASAP!

My heartfelt condolences to the families of victims, and all lives lost in this current poor leadership.

"Let's our hosted Pakam be escorted back to their originated place they came from,  western Lakes harmonious.

It's high time to reject killing of Yirol signatories by pakam whom we have harmonized and accommodated to settle peacefully in Ciec manyiel arena within ( yirol) after they were chased out of Western lakes(Rumbek)for their best reasons known to them.

However, pakam did not come as visitors that need to live in peace like we were expecting them to be in peace. We have given them all humanitarian assistance which any other neighboring state couldn't do to them without schismatic characters and sheltered them perfectly to cure their vulnerability(ies).

This come to my thoughts,if pakam of yesterday we have accommodated and left unarmed with their guns purposely to protect themselves from their previous enemy has point guns on us and left two brave sons of Yirol dead in cold blood then It's very inhumane attitude stimulating.  Perhaps,I'm afraid we have hosted wrong elements that couldn't reckon good deeds we have done to them. It seems like we have truly sheltered poisonous snakes or intruders in our own land.

Nevertheless,as this incident of losing our two great wrestlers of our all time  era in the section of Ajiek in Yirol. Therein,I requested our state authority to intervene with immediate effort to condemn such barbaric killing from both sides and the culprit should be put to law to avoid revenge killing too.

Apparently,I would also like our governor mangar Boung to share a talk with western lakes (Rumbek) new appointed governor to have his people back after all Eastern lakes state (Yirol)have so far shown them their tremendous image as we shouldn't tolerate what's currently emerging to escalate. We need to remains in the shoes of our humanity as Yirol at-large. let's pakam live knowing to go back harmoniously.

yours sincerely

"Cock-up government in eastern lake State lead by Hon.governor Mangar Buong where people are hunting down like animals and no proper report.

Being a governor in the state is not only going to the office and back to house, its means ability to pay much attention to your people by putting the security at first and avoid distractions before it happens.

As per now, hon. Mangar cause for the pain and suffering of our people, disarmed our youths and leave pakaam without disarm .

A confident leader often listen far more than they talk , more interesting in getting different information, opinions and never afraid to ask for help of ideas. As achievement come through collecting of ideas.

The most successfull leaders are those accept blame for their own mistakes and moved forward with the knowledge on how to repeat that mistake.

I'm sure hon.mangar will not accept this mistake.

My question :

If a leader don't take time to build his own legacy,  who should be blamed for?

I'm not criticizing him.  Telling fact become a problem nowadays.

Finally,  I call all our youths and elders to come up with quick solution towards this problem."

"I'm so sad and extremely lack of what to say about all this happening in Yirol.

My questions to the government of  president Salva Kiir Is about the the constitution and the constitution of ELS or all states ' have what call accountability?

And if yes ' than should the Eastern Lake state Governor Mangar Buong Aluenge be responsible for all these current ruthless Killings and displacement of Ciec Community by Pakam Terrorists ?

It's an imaginary that's a state or entity or institution with its own regulations  of Disarmament abandon it's obligation and accepted  or welcomed those territories who resist or refused to accept their Governor Matur Chut policy of Disarmament and decide to come to State where by the youth respect their government to execute their duties by giving their guns to the government whom they think is for people and would grantee protection to them and their livestock.very an fortunately the governor with his team who assumed the position doesn't even know their duties and the laws which the apply to people and if the Governor Mangar know his obligation and responsibility he would think twice before he make his move of disarmament ' He would had first started with the risk assessment by asking himself some questions ."

"The questions of whom should we blamed when such  incidents happened????

1. The president who nominates

2.The Nominee ??"

It is so sad to heard that pagarau payam  was captured by pakam armed  youth and our uncle Mangar is not turn up with his government to protect innocent civilians of Kuachdit.

God knows your intentions about that area and it is not the first time .

"YIROL IS LOSING CONTROL UNDER THE CURRENT DRIVER;

Personally, I commend my name, Gen. Mangar Buong Aluenge for some achievements to the name of his administration but the current situation in Yirol beats his approach. The protracted insecurity in Yirol begs for a fullstop to his administration. Loss of lives and properties has proved mountainous for the administration to tackle. Aluak-luak has been and still bleeding, the Wednesday's attacks on Wunthou and Pagaru by heavily armed Pakam youth left scores of people dead, valuables looted and cattle raided - particularly Ajiek. Five were dead in Wunthou, four more unidentified bodies were found on the peripheral of Yali, an impeccable source in Yirol confirmed to me today. However, in Pagaru, there are no reports of deaths recorded but fatal injuries have been inflicted. There are also unverified reports of revenge killing between Kuanythii and Kuanydit with virtually nothing the administration can do to arrest the situation. As we speak, the situation remains tense and volatile. In the face of this heavily magnituded earthquake, we the citizens of Yirol should make a unified call for a leadership change in Yirol with urgency and ask president Salva Kiir Mayardit to reappoint Maj. Gen. Rin Tueny Mabor as Governor of Eastern Lakes State. His mission will be to return Yirol to peace and tranquility by making SECURITY reign. There also unverified reports that the heavily armed to teeth Pakam youths are preparing to overrun Yirol town something the governor and his ministers must worry about. We just need Gen. Rin Tueny to come and calm the situation and if president Kiir wants him back for a national assignment, it remains his prerogative. POPULAR INTEREST OYEE!"

""WHY DID YOU ACCOMMODATE THEM?"

This question has been commonly asked by many people especially their neighbors, The Luacjang, Gaak, Agaar and the Nuers who once were the victims of random migration and our humble response has been on humanitarian grounds, we were acting as philanthropists but unfortunately we heavily paid the prize.  Had we listened, Yali would have not bled like it is today. Mɛm ku kuɔc-luɔi!!

It is regrettable that Yali (Pan-Ajiɛk) has been sold off to Pakam as an area that do not entertain nonsense and they guards what theirs and if touch they will call spade by its exact name.

Those aspiring to build empires paid deaf ears to what others were saying to have them denied a chance of settling in Yirol by any cost but that did not happen. We're to be blame!

Finally, to those that perished out of cheer ignorance, may their souls rest in paradise and to those whose properties have been looted, may the wrath of kɔc ke Yirol brings bad luck, hunger to the place you will call home later."
